Instead of ticking away the moments that make up a dull day, I went to the Roger Waters concert last friday night. Credited in the pamphlets as the genius creator of Pink Floyd, Roger and his travelling band is something that I couldn't bring myself to missing. The concert took place at Parque Bolivar, which isn't a bad venue for concerts. The security requirements that are aflicted on the Colombian people is severe and well, somewhat stupid aswell. No alcohol or drugs are permitted at the concert, No Cameras, No Belts, and shoes have to be taken off at entry. Now if you think about this you can justify each of those requirements. In practice however it was a complete farce. The security checks were rushed. Noone actually looked in anyones shoes, a lot of people got in with cameras. People were that close to each other in the crowd that i think a mobile phone would be a much more effective weapon then a belt, as there wasn't enough room to swing it.
All that aside the concert was excellent The back of the stage was a giant screen that came to life just before the commencement of the show. This screen was the largest brightest screen that I have seen and the technology that powered it must be worth a fortune. It leant a hell of a lot to the performance though as the animation on the screen ampilfied and re-enforced the content of the music. The concert was delivered in quadraphonic surround sound. The effect of which, particularly during the dark side of the moon was amazing. The concert was good enough that the sensation that you get from holding the contents of your full bladder for 4 hours wasn't able to diminish it at all.
Good concert, Dinner at El Corral afterwards. home in time for tea.

Hey Michael. I recall about 6 months ago when I was in Asia I suggested we trade lives as you told me about your work and dance and sport. Now, back in Brisbane, working for a building services company and riding about I almost feel like we have. Now for the dance and sport... Have fun!
